Hello, we are Music Squad

And we're here to kick some serious life into learning a musical instrument!

After graduating with a first-class degree in Music, our Chief Squadder, Hannah, got her first full-time job teaching the piano in schools. But something didn’t feel right. The kind of teaching she was asked to do didn’t reflect any of the fun or enjoyment she felt music was all about. The lessons were serious and one-dimensional, the material dull and unimaginative. Yawn!

Inspired by the adventure that Hannah knew music was supposed to be about, Music Squad was born! Music Squad exists to share the joy, friendship and adventure that making music can bring to all children and is a bold, new way for children to embrace music and learn to love playing a musical instrument.

Music Squad launched in September 2021 in schools across the North West and delivers fun in-school piano lessons to primary school students – or Squaddies! We deliver one-to-one tuition and our first group after school club, Keyboard Squad.

All of our tuition is delivered using Music Squad’s own published tuition books which are central to our approach. Our unique Squad Stars series is a set of two books designed to take young leaners from day one through to their first exam, the Prep-Test. With steady, unhurried progression the books are packed with 100% original tunes, lively lyrics, exciting puzzle pages, tonnes of duets and positive encouragement at every step.

We're on a mission to making learning an instrument as fun and as joyful as it should be. Let's get silly!
