What distinguishes us from other Dutch orchestras is our unique partnership with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and close ties with the National Opera. Our orchestra members are appealingly diverse in terms of age and nationality. Together we seek to make classical music accessible for all, through a broad range of educational projects, and performances in new, unconventional locations. Based in the historic NedPhO- Koepel in Amsterdam East, the Netherlands Philharmonic provides a vibrant artistic setting that challenges everyone to transcend their musical boundaries.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is an inspired collective with an expressive way of playing. The orchestra creates unique interpretations through its core values: intensive teamwork and open communication.
Gordan Nikolic is the musical leader of the orchestra and leads the orchestra from the concertmaster chair in repertoire spanning centuries.
Works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn form the hart of its repertoire, but every year the orchestra commissions various young composers.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is joined by the Nederlands Philharmonic Ochestra in one organisation with beautiful offices and rehearsal spaces in the eastern part of Amsterdam.
The orchestras are reknown for their outreach and educational programmes making classical music accessible to everyone.
