Introduction to Film Scoring (16+)
11 - 15 Aug, 2025
This week-long in-person short course is designed to introduce you to the theory and practice of writing music for film. Working with a professional composer, you will gain hands-on experience of the entire scoring process, using industry-standard tools to create your own music.
Each daily class is divided into a morning and an afternoon session. Mornings will involve an interactive exploration of a different concept or genre, with video examples and an opportunity to put them into practice. Afternoons will take the form of developing your own week-long project with both collaborative and solo working techniques. Guided by the course leader, you will have a chance to put your ideas into practice and hear the music unfold as you create it.
