Section Principal Oboe

Orchestra Victoria seeks a musician of outstanding leadership and ability for the full-time position of Section Principal Oboe. This position is offered as a full-time maximum term contract (2-years) to permanency arrangement, subject to a trial period in accordance with the OV EBA. The starting salary for this position as a Level A Section Principal Musician is $92,883.78 per annum plus superannuation and allowances.

Audition Details:
Date: Monday 24 June and Tuesday 25 June
Location: Opera Australia Centre, Level 4, 35–47 City Road Southbank VIC 3006
Audition Repertoire (with piano accompaniment):

Mozart - Oboe Concerto in C major
First movement, exposition (up to Bar 97) with cadenza
Second movement   

R. Strauss – Oboe Concerto in D major
Exposition only (up to Fig 5 / bar 59)

Orchestral excerpts
Available following receipt of formal application from Monday 13 May 2024 for candidates attending the audition in person, and Monday 6 May 2024 for candidates submitting a recorded audition.
