Royal Swedish Opera
Tenor 1 and 2, Chorus

The Royal Swedish Opera Chorus is Sweden's largest professional choir, but also one of the world's oldest, with a history dating back to 1773. The choir consists of 54 full-time choristers who participate in the vast majority of opera productions given at the Opera during a season.
The Royal Swedish Opera Chorus is looking for Tenor 1 and 2 for temporary employment.
The chorus master is Jori Klomp with assistant chorus master Martin Virin and Folke Alin.
Your profile
A music or opera college education or documented experience as an opera chorister in musical theatre is a requirement.
Audition
The audition will take place on Saturday the 13th of September 2025, by personal invitation.
The following preparations are made for the audition:
First round:
An obligatory aria and a Chorus excerpt. Chorus excerpt are sent by invitation.
Compulsory arias (choose one of them):
Tenor 1
Un aura amorosa (Così fan tutte)
Che gelida manina (La Bohème)
Pourqoui me reveiller (Werther)
Tenor 2
Dies Bildnis (Die Zauberflöte)
Kuda, kuda (Eugene Onegin)
De' miei bollenti spiriti (La Traviata)
Second round: A self-selected aria (which must be in a language other than the compulsory) ensemble piece and prima a vista. The Ensemble music will be sent by invitation.
Both rounds take place on the same day.
Invitations will be sent approximately the 19th of August.

Registration is done via the Royal Swedish Opera's website no later than 2025-08-10.
The application must include a CV, an mp3 audio file and a photo that is uploaded among other documents on the application page.
