Violin:

Mathias Griesser, Innsbruck, 1728

Price: € 8000
Appearance
The images are relatively close to what the instrument looks like in real life. As can be seen, the violin has a yellow/orange varnish and typical southern German features. The violin is quite well preserved, although there are quite a few repaired cracks as one would expect from an 18th-century instrument. However, there is no sound post-crack, which is rare for such old instruments.

Tone
The violin has many overtones and a silvery tone. The previous owner was a member of the Danish Radio Orchestra, and worked very well in that regard. I have mainly played it with chamber music. The upper registers are the most powerful on this instrument.

Additionally, I have quite good documentation for the provenance and authenticity of the instrument.
Certification: Authentic according to 2 different luthiers with specialisation in German instruments. I have the written testimony of one luthier. Dating matches dendrochronology.
