Piccolo:
Philipp Hammig 650/2
Price: 1800 €
Philipp Hammig 650/2 piccolo for sale, handmade from grenadilla with silver-plated mechanism and E mechanism. Modified wave headjoint. Great response and a full, focused sound, especially in the low register. The pads are firm, not Straubinger. I actually prefer the tone and feel with these.
There was a small crack in the headjoint, and I asked the Hammig workshop to replace it if needed. They examined it and said a repair was enough, so they glued and sealed it properly. It’s been completely stable and hasn’t affected sound or playability at all.
The body was replaced at the Hammig workshop about ten years ago, so it’s in excellent condition.
The piccolo was recently serviced, but I haven’t played it since, so it’s possible that some pads might leak slightly and just need playing in again.
This is a great instrument that I’ve really enjoyed, but I no longer need a pro-level piccolo. I'm happy to answer any questions or send more photos.
