Flute:
Wood flute - Rittershausen
Price: €2500
Sample audio:
This beautiful vintage professional wooden flute was built by Emile Rittershausen in Berlin in 1925. Emile learned his craft from Theobald Böhm. His flutes were known at the time for their high quality.
The flute is in very good condition. The wood is oiled and undamaged. The mechanism is stable, without play, and the keys close properly. The pads are older, but in excellent condition and have not been replaced. The flute is ready to play.
The sound is unusually deep for a wooden flute, thanks to the extra Dirk Kuiper headjoint that comes with the flute. The original headjoint once had a crack that has been repaired. The headjoint is usable and produces a much darker and more subdued sound.
Note that the enclosed valuation indicates that the mechanism is silver.
The flute plays easily at 440 Hz and higher and can therefore be used in modern ensembles. Comes in its original case in very good condition.
