A fine and authentic double bass bow by Émile-Auguste Ouchard, made in Paris circa 1930, accompanied by a recent certificate from Cabinet Jean-François Raffin (Paris), the leading authority in French bows. A well-preserved example in good overall condition, as stated in the Raffin certificate.
This bow represents an early and highly sought-after period of Ouchard’s production, combining the elegance of the Mirecourt tradition with the strength and precision that would define his mature work.
Description
Round stick in fine reddish-brown pernambuco
Ebony frog mounted in nickel silver (maillechort)
Parisian eye in mother-of-pearl
Rounded heel, secured with two pins
Slide fixed with pin
Solid nickel silver button with double rings
The stick is stamped “EMILE OUCHARD” above the frog.
Length of stick: 67 cm, 123 gr.
