Fine contemporary 4/4 violin after Bergonzi, with the mature look and sound of an older instrument.
Built in 2021, this violin has a very old spruce top, a one-piece flamed maple back and hand-applied oil varnish in a warm golden-brown antique finish. The antiquing is detailed and convincing, with a grown, natural character rather than the appearance of a freshly built instrument.
The sound is warm, settled and singing, with an open, sonorous character, easy response and good carrying quality. It feels comfortable under the bow and should be interesting for advanced players, students or professionals looking for a violin with depth, elegance and character.
