MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Student numbers vary each academic year depending on enrolment in elective courses. The instructor's main responsibilities include:

Approximately 100 teaching hours per academic year.
Providing one individual practical session per week (approximately 30 minutes) for each assigned student during the academic year (September 2026 – June 2027).
Encouraging students' critical self-awareness and fostering independence in their individual practice.
Helping students understand the fundamental principles of the Alexander Technique as applied to professional music performance.
Guiding students in identifying and releasing unnecessary muscular tension during instrumental or vocal performance through the hands-on guidance and verbal instruction characteristic of the Alexander Technique.
Teaching students to inhibit habitual reactions and patterns of tension before and during musical performance, promoting conscious psychophysical coordination.
Adapting Alexander Technique principles to the specific needs of each instrument or voice, with particular attention to posture, breathing, and overall coordination.
Promoting the prevention of performance-related injuries and disorders (such as tendinitis, postural pain, or voice strain) by improving body use during practice and performance.
Providing constructive written feedback and student progress evaluations on a quarterly basis.
Submitting final grades in accordance with the module specifications and academic regulations.
Being legally eligible to sign official assessment records.

INTERVIEWS AND TEACHING AUDITIONS

Venue: Albéniz Foundation, Calle Requena 1, 28013 Madrid, Spain.
Interviews and teaching auditions: In person, between 23 and 25 September 2026.
