The National Youth Orchestra
NYO Inspire Manager
Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to participation in orchestral music? We have an opportunity for a highly organised individual to join our team as NYO Inspire Manager.
The National Youth Orchestra is the UK’s leading organisation championing orchestral music as a powerful agent for teenage development. We are a welcoming community where every teenager can play their part in shaping their world through extraordinary music.
NYO Inspire is at the heart of our mission to open up orchestral music to more young people. Through free projects, workshops, residentials and performances, we support teenage musicians from a wide range of backgrounds to develop their skills, confidence, leadership and sense of belonging through exceptional musical experiences. Our work is particularly focused on reaching young people who face barriers to accessing high-quality music-making opportunities.
The NYO Inspire Manager plays a central role in delivering this work. Working closely with the Head of NYO Inspire and Inspire Producer, you will lead the operational planning and delivery of NYO Inspire activity, ensuring projects are safe, inclusive, well-organised and delivered to a consistently high standard. You will oversee logistics, participant administration, communications, venues, travel, accommodation and equipment, while helping to create an outstanding experience for young people, tutors, artists and partner organisations.
This is a varied role combining project management, operational planning, participant administration and on-the-ground delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring activity runs smoothly from initial planning through to delivery and evaluation.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure and confident managing multiple priorities. You will have experience planning and delivering projects and events within an arts, education or youth setting, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to creating inclusive environments where all young people can thrive. Experience of working with young people, managing complex logistics and supervising others would be particularly valuable.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive and ambitious staff team who care deeply about young people and the impact of their work. The role is based at NYO's offices near Holborn in central London, with hybrid working available. The postholder will attend residentials, performances and other activity across the UK throughout the year. NYO offers a season ticket loan scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, health cash plan, retail and entertainment discounts, and a 24/7 counselling and support helpline.
