Co-Principal Double Bass

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Co-Principal Double Bass.
This is a full-time, contract position, with a salary of £40,627.32 per annum.
Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO performs extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and also delivers an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.
The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Mark Wigglesworth; Leader Amyn Merchant.
Single round unaccompanied auditions will be held in Bournemouth on the following dates:
· Friday 19th September
· Friday 26th September
Audition requirements are as follows:
Ø Any Bass Concerto 1st movement (no cadenza) and a contrasting piece.
Ø Excerpts: these will be sent to musicians invited to audition
Ø Sight-reading will be given
Closing Date for applications: Tuesday 22nd July 2025 17:00 GMT
