Double Bass Bow:
Oskar Seifert (Germany)

This Oskar Seifert bow measures overall 72cms and weighs 145gms, with the maker's name Oskar Seifert stamped on the stick side facet at the frog, and having silver mounts.
Oskar Seifert (b-1909, d-1976) learn the craft of bow making from A. Renz in Erlbach between 1924 and 1927 before setting up on his own in Graslitz in 1932. After WWII he opened a workshop in Bubenruth and it is in this second period of working that he stamped his bows Oskar Seifert. In addition to the name brand this long, elegant looking octagonal bow is branded Germany near to the button on the lower facet of the frog.
This well-crafted bow probably dates from around the 1950's and is in excellent condition, showing little use, with no damage or marks, well balanced and very playable.
Includes an almost new Concord double bass bow travelling case for two bows and accessories.
