Lugo Music Festival - 5th Course-Competition for Conductors
19 - 22 Aug, 2026
The 5th edition of the Lugo Music Festival is a very diverse and interdisciplinar event, combining instructive courses and musical concerts. It's an example of coexistence of different genres, styles and musical ensembles, with two lines of action:
1. Festival of concerts.
2. Course-Competition for conductors and course for singers.
Course directors are Cristóbal Soler (conductor) and Lorena Valero (voice).
Students can register as advanced, beginner or auditing (non-participating) students. Deadline was extended to fill the last places.
The focus for conductors in this fifth edition will be repertoire for strings and piano (Bethoveen's 2nd) and wind ensemble. Singers get to choose their preferred repertoire.
The winner of the conducting competition will be chosen out of 3 finalists from the participants in the course. Prizes include positions at an opera festival, grants for masterclasses and a total of €1,500 in musical material.
